The Radical Yes Fitting Salon in North Melbourne is our permanent home and design studio. When we opened the store our aim was to create a space that was not just another retail shoe store, but a special place that our online customers could visit to experience the brand in an exclusive feeling, salon environment. It is also located in our beloved neighbourhood of North Melbourne, which we have called home for ten years.
When the opportunity arose to move into the beautiful 1930s store, we knew it would be the perfect home for our shoes and were excited that our family business could be part of our local community. You can read more about the design of the space by local interior architect Zoe Barclay here.
As we meet our neighbours and settle in, we’ve put together this local guide by way of introducing you to our home, a slightly hidden treasure right next to the CBD. Welcome to North Melbourne!

Never have we come across a more considered fiction curation in an independent bookstore than that of North Melbourne Books. Founded in 2013 by partners Chris and Chris, the little bookstore features an outstanding collection of popular and unconventional novels, magazines and non-fiction works. This is one of those local bookshops where everyone knows everyone, chat is welcome and there’s a recommendation available for every whim.
OF NOTE: In a small reading room at the back, kids have a space where they’re welcome to sit, browse and fall in love with reading. We think this is radical, yes!
And while you're here...a few other places worth a visit...

MORK CHOCOLATE BREW HOUSE 150 Errol St North Melbourne
It's a beautiful cafe built inside a converted old bakery - but instead of coffee, we are talking about specialty hot chocolate! We don't think any further explanation is needed.
